Communications and Development Assistant
Assist the Director of Planning & Development with: ongoing communication needs, including drafting and disseminating content to communicate with donors, clients and other low-income households, community partners, and the general public, utilizing all applicable media and communications methods; and with development work, including support of funding campaigns and drafting content for fundraising appeals and other activities.
- High School diploma or equivalent and demonstrated proficiency and 3 years of relevant experience, including success in marketing / communications strategies and fundraising support
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field or 5 years direct equivalent experience preferred
- Experience with or good working knowledge of media relations and digital media strategies
- Experience and demonstrated success with fundraising / development strategies and associated writing
- Proficiency in MS Office required; familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign), donor and content management systems preferred
- Strong editing and researching, oral and written communication, and organizational skills, and attention to detail

Assist with ongoing and specifically-requested administrative needs, including: creating and implementing administrative documents and procedures; collecting, processing, and presenting program data; preparing reports to state, federal, and other funders, state Legislators, and program partners; developing and disseminating press releases and conducting outreach and public relations efforts around program activities & outcomes; and communicating with program partners and funders, including program ”Hubs,” Task Force members, VT Agency of Commerce and Community Development, VT Community Foundation (VCF), FEMA, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required; Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
- 3 years’ relevant experience, and demonstrated proficiency in data management, administrative procedures, and other business functions required; contract management and accounts payable and/or other finance-related experience preferred.
- Experience working with multiple funders, partners and/or other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications required; experience working with Google Drive preferred.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Some experience with bookkeeping and/or other finance-related experience will be viewed positively.

Immediate opening for a Food Service Provider within SEVCA Windsor County Head Start. Seeking a motivated individual to prepare meals for a large group of preschoolers. Food Service Providers will be responsible for meal prep, serving meals that are high in nutrients on time, kitchen clean- up; dishes, emptying garbage daily, cleaning appliances, cleaning cupboards/drawers, etc. Food Service Providers are also responsible for shopping, putting groceries away and paperwork. Food Service Providers are responsible for being familiar with Head Start Performance Standards and guidelines of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and State of Vermont Early Childhood Program Licensing Regulations, and ensuring they are being met in the kitchen. Experience planning, preparing and serving meals to large groups, knowledge of CACFP guidelines are a distinct advantage. Practice-based Coach/Child Support Specialist
Full-time position available at the SEVCA Windsor County Head Start, located in Springfield VT. (40 hrs/wk, 39 wks/yr). Opening for a Head Start Practice-based Coach/Child Development Support Specialist within SEVCA Windsor County Head Start. Seeking a nurturing and motivated professional to work with children ages 3-5 years old in a play-based environment. The Child Development Support Specialist is responsible for providing support within a Head Start classroom setting to individual children with social/emotional behavioral concerns. Provide behavioral strategies to help strengthen the children’s social/emotional skills and improve their ability to learn. Monitor, collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of implementation. Support teaching staff in the establishment and maintenance of positive and productive partnerships with families. The Practice-based Coach is responsible for implementing the Practice-based Coaching model in our program to fidelity. Working closely with 5-6 pre-selected teaching staff to improve his/her skills on goals established as being mutually beneficial for the staff, children and classroom. Provide feedback and suggestions of strategies for Coachees to improve their teaching practice. Ability to monitor, collect, analyze and report on data to evaluate the effectives of the strategies being implemented. Job requirements include:

Home Repair Program Coordinator
Coordinate and, as needed and feasible, carry out, home repairs for low-income households to address health, safety, energy waste, accessibility, and other needs. Responsibilities include client intake & enrollment, spec writing, awarding bids / contracts, document preparation, contractor supervision, quality control, recordkeeping / reporting, and collaboration. Will also ideally include hands-on repair work for additional hours for someone with appropriate skills & experience.
Requires 5 yrs construction-related exp, including hands-on work, spec writing, cost estimating & contracting; knowledge of building codes / regulations; good communication, organizational, writing & computer skills; ability to relate to low-income clients and supervise contractors. Knowledge of local building trades / contractors a plus. Up to 40 hrs/week for combined coordinator & direct service work, 20-30 for just the coordinator role.
