The scale and depth of the heating fuel crisis is greater than ever before, as indicated by the following data:

• Last winter, the number of households served by SEVCA with federal Crisis Fuel funds increased 47% over the previous year.

• The number of “over-income” households who had to be helped by private fuel funds such as “Share the Warmth” increased 60%.

• The total amount of Emergency Fuel Assistance funds SEVCA spent from all sources last winter jumped from $231,000 to $512,000, an increase of 122%.
   And we expect an even greater demand this year!

What your support will enable us to do:

SEVCA’s SHARE THE WARMTH! Fuel Fund assists families and individuals who are not eligible for federally-funded Crisis Fuel assistance but still cannot afford a fuel delivery, or are without fuel at times when Crisis Fuel is not available (before Nov. 24th and after Apr. 15th), even though it may be very cold. This includes the working poor, seniors, and people struggling with finances due to illness, separation and divorce, and unexpected emergencies.
